Argyrophil Cells in Normal Human Uterine Cervix
نویسندگان
چکیده
Introduction: Argyrophil cells are neuroendocrine cells which react with silver stain resulting in brown or black coloration with the help of an external reducer. Argyrophil cells occur rarely in the normal human uterine cervix but are found in a variety of invasive tumors arising in the cervix. Methods and Results: About 317 normal human uterine cervices were stained with Grimelius argyrophilic reaction out of which 158 cases (49.84%) showed the positivity. The immunomarkers used in the present study were Chromogranin A

Background: Ovarian mucinous borderline tumors are divided into two morphologic groups: endocervical-like and intestinal type. Most endocervical adenocarcinomas exhibit mucinous and/or endometrioid differentiation, they infrequently metastasize to the ovaries but may simulate primary ovarian tumors (both atypical proliferative or borderline and carcinoma). In patients with mucinous adenocarcino...

Background & Objectives: Tumor diathesis (TD) is defined as granular proteinaceous precipitates on slide surface of cytologic smears. It is found in the background of smears of invasive carcinoma but not in all cases. The aim of present study was to determine the prevalence of TD in cervicovaginal smears from patients with uterine cervix carcinoma. Methods: Cytological smears and histological ...
متن کاملDifferential expression of Mr 70,000 heat shock protein in normal, premalignant, and malignant human uterine cervix.
Transformed cells differ from normal cells in their pattern of heat shock protein expression. Here, we report differential expression of a Mr 70,000 heat shock protein (HSP70) in squamous cell carcinomas of the uterine cervix compared to normal or premalignant uterine cervix. Expression of HSP70 was measured using a mouse mAb against HSP70 by an ELISA. A significant increase in the level of exp...

Transformed cells differ from normal cells in their pattern of heat shock protein expression. Here, we report differential expression of a Mr 70,000 heat shock protein (HSP7O) in squamous cell carcinomas of the uterine cervix compared to normal or premabignant uterine cervix. Expression of HSP7O was measured using a mouse mAb against HSP7O by an ELISA. A significant increase in the bevel of exp...
متن کاملKeratin subtypes in carcinomas of the uterine cervix: implications for histogenesis and differential diagnosis.
Normal epithelia and carcinomas of the human uterine cervix were studied by monoclonal antibodies chain specific for cytokeratins 4, 8, 10, 13, 14, 18, and 19. Most cells in 13 examined squamous carcinomas revealed a cytokeratin phenotype detected in ectocervical basal cells and endocervical subcolumnar reserve cells: 8+, 14+, 18+, 19+, 4-, 10-, 13-. We propose that these two cell types are clo...
